Twenty years of market research

 

(McKinney, Tx) --- Feb 10, 2010.  It was champagne all around as The MIP/MME staff celebrated 20 years of market research for the microscopy and imaging industry!  “I think we’ve covered the full gambit, from high tech microarray readers and semiconductor metrology to the hottest hybrid AFM/Raman systems and back to simple disposable slides and elegant illumination systems,” laughed Barbara Foster, The MIP’s President and Chief Strategic Consultant.  “The Voice of the Customer is profound.  Acknowledging it always provides such a strong basis for profitable engineering and business development, and with the ease of today’s web-based surveys, we can often get that critical information within a few short weeks.”

The MIP and its predecessor, MME, have authored close to 100 strategic reports and market surveys, including approximately 40 off-the-shelf research studies.  They are fluent in both spectroscopy and microscopy, having researched technology in Fourier Transform Infrared, Raman, X-ray and multi-spectral imaging as well as all areas of microscopy (light, electron, confocal, and scanning probe).  Their current specialties: the new family of hybrid instruments which characterize the collision between microscopy and spectroscopy.
